Ruth E. (Ferguson) Holt, 80, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Waterford Health Campus, Kokomo, after an extended illness.
She was born April 3, 1932, in Lafayette, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Tribble) Ferguson. She married Harry O. Holt, April 7, 1951 in Lafayette, and he survives. They made their home in recent years in Bunker Hill, Indiana. She graduated from Battle Ground High School. Ruth retired from Landis and Gyr (Duncan Electric) in Lafayette after over 25 years of service. She was a member of Battle Ground Eastern Star and Bunker Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, and bird watching.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Ronald (Peggy) Holt, Delphi; three daughters, Elizabeth (David) Barnhart, Idaville; Joni Good, Prescott, Arizona; and Celeste (Rodd) Smith, Russiaville; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary Minniear, Lafayette and Phyllis Taylor, Logansport; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clint, Charles (Dude), Glenn, Bill, Rex, Jon and Don Ferguson; and one sister, Joann Carpenter.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2012 at Bunker Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 279 W. Broadway, Bunker Hill, Indiana, 46914, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Bill Sheets presiding. Private interment will take place at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, Indiana. Indiana Funeral Care is in charge of arrangements.
